    The Introduction of Magnetic Separator Maintenance

    The magnetic separator is suitable for the wet magnetic separation of materials whose granularity is below 3mm such as magnetite, pyrrhotite, calcined ore and ilmenite and can also be used for removing iron from the materials such as coal, non-metal ore and building material.

    Because of the wet air in the cylinder of magnetic separator, the magnetic system often adopts the strontium ferrite magnets and ndfeb magnets, among which the ndfeb magnets has a weaker chemical stability and the surface is easy to be oxidized and peel off step by step. While the strontium ferrite magnets are stable in the chemical performance, the peeling off problem also occurs. So it is necessary to be fixed no matter to the strontium ferrite magnets or ndfeb magnets. The drum skin of the magnetic separator receives constantly impact from the granular iron ore, so it is important to protect the cylinder. Too much abrasion will lead to the wearing out of the cylinder skin and the ore pulp will enter into the cylinder, even closely stick to the surface of the magnetic system. The ore pulp also may enter into the bearing and bring damage to it even to the whole equipment. So, it is very important to protect the magnetic cylinder.

    Solutions: First to reduce the magnetic drum skin wear from the metal materials by packaging the drum skin with a high-strength, corrosion-resistance and wear-resistance polyvinyl chloride (PVC) composite material, or sticking PVC to the drum skin with strong adhesives, because the PVC materials is stronger in the toughness and can resist the strong impact and improve the service life of the magnetic roller.

    Then to fix the magnetic source body which should be packaged by the stainless steel plate with a small thickness in the magnetic separator cylinder. The stainless steel plate can not only protect the magnetic source from being damaged without influencing the magnetic field, but also could avoid the magnetic patch to fall off.

    Completing the two things above can not only protect the surface of the magnetic drum, and can effectively prolong its service life.
